Education Mass 2024

Education Mass: Bishop Bosco will be celebrating Mass for all those involved in any way in Catholic education, at Clifton Cathedral, on Thursday 21 November at 6.00pm. This is an annual Mass, bringing all our school community members together as a diocesan family to celebrate Catholic education. This year’s choir will be St Peter’s High School, Gloucester. The Mass offers an opportunity for all those connected with Catholic education, teachers, staff, governors, pupils and parents, in Clifton Diocese to renew their commitment to Catholic education. Light Refreshments will be available.

The Parish of Sacred Heart, Tisbury and All Saints, Wardour

Our Parish is one of the largest in the South of England.  Situated in the south-west corner of Wiltshire, within the Diocese of Clifton, and Salisbury Catholic Deanery  it is some sixteen miles long and ten miles wide, shaped like a diamond, and covering seventeen Church of England Parishes.  It stretches from six miles west of Salisbury to the very edge of Shaftesbury.  It contains not only its Parish Church of The Sacred Heart but, also, the chapel of All Saints at Wardour Castle.  Its connections with the latter and with the Arundell family, mean that it has more history than most other parishes. (Extracted from “The Diocese of Clifton” by Rev. Dr. John Anthony Harding, The Clifton Diocesan Archivist.)

Parish Priest: Fr Jonathan Creer

Deacon Michael Hughes

The Emmaus Partnership

The Emmaus Partnership

Based on the Scripture reading:  The Road to Emmaus (Lk 24:13-35)

Jesus joins them on the road and travels with them.  He walks no faster or no slower than them.  He meets them where they are at, not where He thinks they should be or where they ought to be and journeys with them even though this journey is away from Jerusalem.  They did not recognise Jesus because of the turmoil they were going through themselves, but Jesus does not judge them but asks them to recount their story.  It is in the ‘normal’ of their lives that He meets them.

Lord Jesus Christ,

Stay with us, too, we pray,

in every part of our journey,

no matter how full of doubt or fear we may be today.

Through your Holy Spirit,

we pray that you will open our eyes, too

Help us see you as our risen Lord

in all your beauty,

and in all your loving power.

Amen
