Sport at Wardour
At Wardour, emotional and mental wellbeing is not only enhanced by Forest School but also by sport. Sport remains central to both our curriculum and extra-curricular provision. We believe the pedagogy of P.E. in sport positively influences other areas of the curriculum and really enhances children’s learning skills such as listening, problem solving, team work, respect and resilience.
PE lessons
The children have two sessions of sport delivered by specialist sport coaches every week.
Active break time
At lunch time, they can take part in organised games such as football, cricket and rounders.
Sports Week
We have a Sports Week every year which finishes with Sports Day where each house competes for the Sports trophy. The children have the opportunity to try many different sports and meet inspirational sports people.
Swimming
Year 1 to year 6 have swimming lessons at Port Regis and Tisbury Pool.
Matches and tournaments
We take every opportunity to compete against other schools in different matches and tournaments including football, hockey, rugby, swimming, netball and athletics
