The start of a new School year brings fresh challenges and the 2015/16 academic year is no exception.   The pupil role reached 100 this year – the highest for some time and on that basis to keep class numbers lower it was decided to have a separate class for Reception and introduce a fifth class St Edith for Year 3.

We are very fortunate in our Head Teacher, Teachers and Administrative and Support staff as I am sure you are aware, as parents and which, was commented on in our recent OFSTED inspection as well demonstrated for the results in the last academic year.  They will be facing Government changes in the School Curriculum and Assessment procedures which ………………

The beginning of the school year has been difficult with all the outstanding building work from the summer holidays but with the new entrance hall, improved security and provision of wheel chair access now complete,  I am sure you will agree with me that it has been worth the wait.  We are very grateful to the Catholic Diocese of Clifton for funding all the building works.

Our next building project will be replacing the mobile classroom either with another temporary building or replacing it with another classroom.  We will be looking at the options how this can be funded.

Please have my assurances that my Governors and I are here to help the Head Teacher and the staff achieve the best for all pupils and to create a happy and positive environment where children can fully develop their potential.  The Governors and I are always available to hear about your concerns. Obviously if you are worried about anything to do with your child's education you should first approach your Class Teacher or the Head. However, please be assured we as Governors are here to help you.

Yours sincerely

Susie Blundell

Chair of Governors, on behalf of the Governing Body
